(The Hill) - The Biden administration declined to veto the ban on certain Apple Watch imports into the U.S., letting the ban officially take effect Tuesday. This comes as Apple faces a legal dispute over the technology the smartwatches use to run the blood oxygen feature on the devices. On Oct. 26, the International Trade Commission (ITC) upheld a January ruling that sided with the medical technology company Masimo, which in 2021 sued Apple for patent infringement at the ITC over the Apple Watch Series 6.Masimo accused the tech giant of poaching employees and stealing trade secrets related to the light-based technology for measuring blood-oxygen levels, which was first featured in the Apple Watch Series 6 smartwatch. Everyone you know sick? 9 states reach CDC’s highest level for respiratory illness Masimo originally sued Apple in federal court in 2020, but the case ended in a mistrial in May. LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously voted Thursday to add a Mississippi illusionist to the "black book" for Nevada casinos after learning 17 Nevada properties trespassed him. At the Dec. 21 meeting, Senior Deputy Attorney General Michael Somps brought an action to add Shaun Joseph Benward to the list of people who are excluded from casinos in the state. Somps said Benward has a "fairly extensive" history and was active not only in Nevada but across the country. Benward is "known for engaging" in schemes to defraud casinos while playing roulette by distracting dealers using an accomplice and placing a late bet, Somps said.On Sept. 6, the board nominated Benward, claiming that "the presence of Mr. Benward in a licensed gaming establishment poses a threat to the interest of the state of Nevada and licensed gaming and he should therefore be excluded from licensed gaming establishments." SANTA CLARA — If you’re a 49ers fan who received Super Bowl tickets for Christmas, you might want to ask for a gift receipt. That’s because the showdown between the AFC and NFC’s top seeds, the Ravens and Niners — the biggest game of the regular season — didn’t turn out to be much of a contest.Brock Purdy threw four interceptions, the 49ers’ defense was carved up like a holiday roast by Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, and the Niners were blown out 33-19 at home in front of a national television audience. This was too big a game to now claim as unimportant or uninformative. Bad luck or injuries had nothing to do with the loss.“We got our tails kicked in,” George Kittle said. And that’s the first time that’s really happened to the Niners this season without an obvious excuse.Yes, San Francisco went up against a worthy adversary and didn’t look worthy of the stage. That’s the kind of loss that throws everything into questi...Muni once again offering free rides all over the city on New Year's Eve
