Dear Abby: Am I overreacting to my European daughter-in-law’s behavior?

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:43:26 GMT

DEAR ABBY: I consider myself a modest woman in today’s world. I have a new granddaughter whom my daughter-in-law nurses anywhere, at any time, regardless of who she is around.I told my son she should cover herself in restaurants and other public places. I get embarrassed when she just pulls out a breast for anyone to see. She’s European, and I understand it is more common there, but not so much in America.Am I overreacting?LOOKING AWAY IN CALIFORNIADEAR LOOKING AWAY: I think so. Nursing mothers are no longer relegated to feeding their infants in bathrooms as they were years ago. However, because you are embarrassed at the sight of your daughter-in-law nursing, consider leaving the table until she is finished to preserve your modesty.DEAR ABBY: My wife and I were married 21 years ago. While we were together, she admitted to cheating with 10 different men.Related ArticlesAdvice | Dear Abby: My husband says he’ll burn the house down if I go through with my ...

Instead of coming down in Sweden as planned, the microgravity scientific rocket instead hit a mountainous region in Norway, some 40 kilometers west of the intended landing zone and 15 kilometers over the international border, according to the Swedish Space Corporation. The Norwegian government was displeased with its Nordic neighbor, arguing it should report such incidents more thoroughly.“The crash of a rocket like this is a very serious incident that can cause serious damage,” the Norwegian foreign ministry said. “When such a border violation occurs, it is crucial that those responsible immediately inform the relevant Norwegian authorities through the proper channels.”The SCC said it was working to retrieve the remains and that an investigation will be started to probe what caused the “non-nominal flight...

Global data is key to tackling the rise in brain health conditions

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:43:26 GMT

Brain health conditions have become a global health emergency.Incidences of Parkinson’s disease and dementia have more than doubled over the past 30 years. More than 15 percent of all health loss (for example through illness, disability or death) around the world is now associated with brain health conditions. In 2021, approximately 406 million disability-adjusted life years were caused by brain health conditions, which is higher than other widely acknowledged health threats such as cancer (260 million DALYs) or cardiovascular disease (402 million DALYs).The case numbers are expected to rise further due to aging and growing populations and other contributing factors such as smoking, obesity and pollution. The number of people living with dementia worldwide is forecast to increase from 60 million now to 150 million in 2050. In Europe, the 2022 total lifetime costs for Alzheimer’s disease were estimated to be at €1.2 trillion, with 80 percent of them driven by informal care and non-me...

Howie Carr: Biden’s 2024 re-election run one for the ages

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:43:26 GMT

Dementia Joe Biden made it official yesterday that he wants to “finish the job.”Maybe he should learn how to finish a sentence first. The announcement was pre-recorded, for obvious reasons. According to the latest NBC poll, 70% of Americans don’t want Brandon to run again – 70%! That includes a majority of Democrats.Only 26% in the poll want him back on the ballot at age 82. Even Donald Trump has 35% rooting for him to run next year.Rather than releasing that statement – in fact a campaign ad – perhaps Brandon should have put out a videotape of his recent greatest hits, to show that he hasn’t lost an inch off the old fastball. In fact, he’s lost a yard – 10 yards in fact. First down, Brandon! But I have the tape for you, from this last month. All dialogue guaranteed verbatim.Let’s start with Monday afternoon at the White House. Dementia Joe is sporting his Seventies shades.“We know that there’s no there’s no such there’s there’s there’s so much more! To finish the job. We can do it!”T...
