South Carolina restores 6-week abortion ban

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:14:00 GMT

By James Pollard | Associated Press/Report for AmericaCOLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Senate approved a bill Tuesday that would ban most abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy — before most people know they are pregnant – and sent it to the governor who has promised to sign it.The proposal restores a ban South Carolina had in place when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. It is tied to heart disease and dementia. It is painful. Children whose teeth hurt can’t concentrate in school. Missing teeth lead to malnutrition. They are unsightly and often cost people employment opportunities. It does us no good for any of us to be unhealthy. It’s costly and it undermines our national security and our economy. So this celebratory article begs the question: How is it possible that in one of the wealthiest countries in the world we don’...
